Loser Leaves Town (Video Package)

PROJECT ROLE: Editor / Graphics / Wrestler (Xander Palmer)

The second video package I made for Aspire Wrestling was for a 'Loser Leaves Town' grudge match with my former tag team partner Lexi Morgan. This story was several years in the making, as we had been a team for three years, and tag team champions for two, so there was a strong connection between our two characters. After I had left for my first year of university, Lexi had been able to have a run on her own - culminating in a championship match that I then cost her. I chose the song 'Jimmy Sparks' by The Lumineers because I love the way it builds in intensity, which is an energy I tried to match with the video package. The parallel editing between our respective matches and dialogue was my personal favourite part to see come together. As this was a tie-in with our biggest annual show, Destined For Glory, an abbreviated version of the full video was shown in front of the sold-out crowd - which was a huge personal point of pride for me as well.
