Alexander Campbell

'Out of this World!' was a very special project for me to produce. We wanted to challenge ourselves during our Level 4 Factual Entertainment assignment by looking towards creating a project beyond our own age range - which inspired me to think about producing an episode of children's television. We went through several different ideas, such as history and volcanoes, before we settled on looking at science and space. Using puppets that I had had since I was younger, we worked in a large group to create something that would feel at home on CBeebies. As executive director and one of the on-screen characters, I have a personal point of pride with this programme, as we had to think conceptually about how to create programming for a new demographic which could have very practical applications in an educational setting. This project was incredibly rewarding for me, as my old primary school has taken the project to integrate into their Year One module on space.
